Victoria Returns

P1140853

Victoria has returned home after 4 months away being painting and this weekend it was four days of fun for us to be out with her.

On Friday we went up to Gerald Whittaker’s to steam her up and bring her home, after a few teething issues we were soon on our way home but sadly it was in the rain.

Saturday we were up and giving her a good clean before we  roaded to Petersfield ready for an event on Sunday. Lords Farm is in Sheet near Petersfield and we try to support this chartiy event each year. With a large selection of tractors on display and a few cars the farmer opens his shed where he has a large collection of all sorts of things from model cars, boats, china animals and many old vehicles around the place. This was also the first time out for our sons tractor which he has done up after having it in Febuary for his 16th birthday.

On Monday we were invited to bring Victoria and Lady Pride of England to an event in the local town of Petersfield, so it was an early start to get both engines there by 10am. Lloyd and Jack went off to Petersfield to steam up Victoria at 7am while Kev and myself were with Lady at 7am a few miles away near Liss. A couple of hours later Lady was blowing off and ready to go so off we went hoping to miss much of the traffic on the A3 as it was quite early. After a couple of miles into the trip there was a bit of bang and nosies, things weren’t right so we stopped and with the help of the friendly farmer and his large jacks and blocks of wood we were soon on our way. By this tme Victoria had made it into the town and we were a couple of hours late but we made it. A good time was had by all, the town was busy with lots of interest in the engines. Then we had a lovely steam home in the evening sun shine. Sadly I have no pictures of the event on Monday but you can visit our Facebook page where you will see a couple of pictures thanks to Steve Cockram.
