As we were feeling a bit fed up this weekend after having to postpone our event we decided as it was a nice day Sunday we would steam up both the engines and go for a run out. It had been decided that we would meet a couple of friends on their engines at a pub just a few miles away so we put fires in both Victoria and Lady and all was going well.
Lady and Victoria are homed a few miles away from each other so Lloyd and Jack were getting Victoria ready while a few miles up the road Kev and myself were with Lady, I decided to give Lloyd a call as we were getting close to moving off. Lloyd answered the phone and sadly told me that Victoria had a problem with her sight glass and might not be able to come out to play as somethnig had snapped. It was decided that we would make our way to Victoria with Lady and see if anything could be done with Victoria so she could go out to play!!!.
We then set off for our couple of mile trip to find Victoria, on our way Kev was doing alot of twisting, poking, looking and muttering to himself while I was happily sitting there steering. Then we come to a stop where he told me that Lady was having a problem with her sight glass and we would have to repair when we got to our house with Victoria.
We got to home and Victoria was now in full steam sitting on the road waiting to go, Lloyd and Jack had managed to bogded something together. Then they sort out Lady, while they done that I made lunch and soon Lady was ready to go.
We never did get to the pub to see our friends and their engines, sorry Michael and Peter, but we had a lovely run to Petersfield where we had a cup of tea with my Mum and friends at her house then a lovely truddle home before sheeting both engines up and putting them away…
It was a great day even though we we disappointed not to of been doing our gathering but hopefully September 29th & 30th will be a sunny dry weekend. Please come along and join us at Barr Field, Liss. Hamoshire..
Here are a few pictures of our day… Enjoy
