With the first day of spring today we thought we would add a quick post to have a catch up of our plans so far for 2024.
Victoria is about to have her cold and steam test, they are booked in for April so after that she will be back out and ready for the 2024 season, our Foden is still at Amberley Museum where he has been for the winter, thank you to Nick and Amberley for letting us keep him there. At the moment he is drained down for the winter months, but that is all about to change. He has had a good wash out and now having a few fittings changed, bungs and oilers mainly as we weren’t happy with a few of them, then his pipe work and injector, pressure gauge and a few other bits and pieces put back on him and he will be ready for the off. We are hoping to steam him on Good Friday at Amberley.
We have a few events already booked in, Hollycombe Steam Collection have their steam rally on the 1st & 2nd June, it called Robert Bance Memorial Rally in memory of their friend and volunteer Robert Bance.
We are then off to Amberley Museum for their Steam Rally held over the weekend of 6th & 7th July, we then have a few events to do there Railway Gala later in July and a couple in August. Then we are off to Balls Cross Rally, which is always a great event and is all for charity.
We have a few other exciting things in the pipe line but we will give you more details as and when we finalise them.
We are looking forward to a great 2024 season, hoping the weather is a little kinder to us this year, last year we seem to spend quite a bit of time in the wet weather, fingers crossed.
